At 19:00 on Friday, March 21, 2025, all faculty and students of the Digital Media and Intelligent Network Laboratory held the first group meeting of the semester in Lab D210, East Building 9. The meeting was chaired by Professor Yu Li. Liu Linyun presented research on “Perception-Driven Rate Control for Panoramic Video Coding Based on Energy Distribution Optimization.” Targeting the fact that panoramic video (PV) has larger flat areas than traditional video, and that existing VVC intra-frame rate control methods based on energy distribution features have poor consistency with human visual perception, she proposed a method that optimizes bit allocation by simulating the perceptual characteristics of the human visual system (HVS). Zhong Yucheng presented research on “Decoder-Side Affine Motion Refinement Based on Bilateral Matching Cost Optimization,” targeting the fact that decoder-side motion vector optimization techniques in existing AVS coding standards are not effectively applied to affine coding blocks, and proposed decoder-side refinement methods for CPMV and non-affine parameters, effectively improving coding efficiency. The presentations by these two students aimed to summarize their recent learning achievements, clarify their progress, and push their abilities to new heights. Finally, Professor Yu Li gave corresponding reminders and a summary on the proposal and mid-term matters for master’s and doctoral students, laying a solid foundation for the smooth progress of everyone’s subsequent studies.
