On December 8, 2024, the School of Future Technology successfully held an event titled ‘Linking the Future, Sailing with Excellence — 2024 Future Science and Innovation Academic Forum and Undergraduate Science and Technology Innovation Achievement Exhibition’ at the Optoelectronic Information Building of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The event comprehensively showcased the school’s latest achievements in enhancing students’ comprehensive literacy, promoting breakthroughs in science and technology innovation, and exploring practical applications.
At the event, important guests attended, including You Zheng, President of Huazhong University of Science and Technology; Academician Ding Han, Director of the University Academic Committee and Dean of the School of Future Technology; Feng Dan, Vice President of the University; Zhang Tao, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Optoelectronic Information; and guest professor Partha Pratim Banerjee. The forum was hosted by Tang Ming, Executive Dean of the School of Future Technology, and attracted many experts and scholars from academia and industry, who jointly witnessed the school’s achievements in innovative education and the transformation of scientific research results.
As an important supporting fund within the lab, the Taihu Fund has been committed to promoting science and technology innovation and talent cultivation, especially playing a positive role in strengthening the integration of industry, academia, and research. At this launch event, Gao Qianwen, a master’s student of the lab, attended as one of the representatives of the fund. During the conference, by listening to the wonderful reports of the participating guests, she gained an in-depth understanding of the latest developments of the School of Future Technology in science and technology innovation and future technology fields. Although Gao Qianwen did not give a report at the meeting, she gained a lot of valuable academic and practical experience through interactive exchanges with the experts present.
The Taihu Fund is a fund established within our lab dedicated to science and technology innovation and talent cultivation, aiming to provide scientific research support and resources for lab members and promote academic exchanges and cooperation. Through this event, the Taihu Fund further supported the in-depth cooperation between academia and industry, and provided lab members with more opportunities to engage in dialogue with frontier technology and innovative research.
In the future, the Taihu Fund will continue to increase its support for science and technology innovation and academic exchanges, helping the lab’s sustained development in the field of scientific research, and making more contributions to the country’s scientific and technological progress and innovation.
