Today, our lab invited Professor Lin Cai of the University of Victoria to give an online report on future sixth-generation (6G) wireless systems. Future 6G wireless systems aim to achieve the fusion of the digital and physical worlds in all dimensions, and are a current research hotspot in the fields of communications and networking. How to design new 6G protocol architectures has attracted widespread attention from researchers. In this online lecture, Professor Lin Cai introduced a new protocol architecture, namely the self-evolving and transformative architecture, which can provide extensive control functions and intelligently configure different types of 6G applications and network environments. Professor Lin Cai discussed the design principles, potential, and unresolved issues of the architecture, and also introduced a case of developing a mobile-aware multipath QUIC protocol for satellite networks using this architecture. Through multiple rounds of questions and discussions, the faculty and students gained a deeper understanding of future 6G wireless systems and the self-evolving and transformative architecture.
